The R40 from Mbombela towards White River right at the KMI Airport turn-off is completely blocked due to an accident that involved a minibus taxi and diesel truck.

Mmusi also said 13 passengers and the driver were slightly injured and one was seriously injured, while the truck driver was unharmed.

“At the moment, it is not clear what might have caused the accident; however, emergency personnel are at the scene. Our officials are trying to open the road, but there is no estimated time for when the road is going to open. We advised motorists to use alternative roads to avoid delays and to be patient with us while we try to open the road,” he said.

Mmusi further said an investigation is under way to find the cause of the accident.
