Mbombela CBD power out for almost 24 hours
The Mbombela CBD has been without power for almost 24 hours. It is as yet unclear when it will be restored.
A power outage lasting almost 24 hours has affected the Mbombela CBD. The electricity was first reported to be off at about 11:30 on Thursday morning, January 11.
The outage is a result of a cable fault. The City of Mbombela’s energy department has been on the ground since the report to find the fault and restore power to the affected area.

Mbombela ward councillor Thea Rix said the power was restored at about 13:30 on Thursday, but that it went out again at 22:30 that night.
The energy department is currently working on the fault, however, no estimated time of completion has been given at this stage.
