Tubatse SAPS seeks public assistance to identify drowned woman

The SAPS managed to retrieve the body on December 15.

The Tubatse SAPS requests the public’s assistance to locate the relatives of an unknown woman who allegedly drowned in the Tubatse River in Bothashoek on Friday December 15 at about 11:00.

The police were informed about the body of a woman that was seen floating in the river by a group of men who were fishing nearby.

The provincial search-and-rescue diving unit was summoned and managed to retrieve the body.

“The deceased is light in complexion and was found wearing a white blouse, an Italian-made dress with mixed colours and white and purple Puma sneakers,” said the Limpopo SAPS’s spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba.

The deceased’s body is currently at Lebowakgomo Forensic Pathology, and the police have so far not received any complaints or reports about a missing person in the precinct. The woman is estimated to be aged between 25 and 35.

The SAPS requested members of the community who have a missing female relative to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Makutuma Ngoasheng, on 064 773 4685 or 079 889 5531.
