As the hospice relies solely on donations and the support of the community, this was one of their initiatives to raise funds.

Di Atherton, the vice chairperson of the hospice, mentioned that more than 100 people participated in the bingo evening.

John and Lyn Davis, the owners of Picasso’s Mexican Taqueria, sponsored some of the beverages’ proceeds to Hospice White River. The bingo winners received prizes and shooters donated by Donna James of Mindful Marketing.

The event featured entertainment by Bingo Queen Angela Kent, and according to Atherton, it was a great night enjoyed by all the guests. Atherton said that they raised an amount of R10 500.

She added that this marked the first of many regular bingo nights, and that they are eagerly anticipating the next one.
