Majority of Lowveld dams record improvements above 100%
In the latest report from the water department, the majority of Lowveld dams’ levels showed improvements. Only the Buffelskloof and Ohrigstad dams were noted to have declined.
The Department of Water and Sanitation has released its latest report on dam levels on March 27.
The majority of dams are above 100%.

Those listed that recorded improvements are Kwena Dam, increasing from 100.3% to 100.5%, Driekoppies from 99.8% to 100.2%, Blyderivierspoort from 100.3% to 100.7%, Longmere from 100.7% to 100.9%, Klipkopjes from 100.0% to 100.2%, Primkop from 100.6% to 101.1%, Da Gama from 99.3% to 100.3%, Inyaka from 100.1% to 100.5%.
Witklip Dam remained unchanged at 100.4%.
The listed dams that recorded declines in water levels are Buffelskloof, dropping from 100.3% to 100.2%, and Ohrigstad Dam, which is the only one in the Lowveld below 100%, dropping from 73.1% to 72.2%.
