Killers FC eliminated in the 2024 Orlando Pirates Cup group stages
The team lost all their matches during the tourney.
Killers FC, the team from Tubatse that competed in the 2024 Orlando Pirates Cup, was eliminated in the group stages of the tournament. The teams hails from Mahlashi outside Burgersfort.
They played their matches at the Gauteng Marks Park Sportsgrounds on March 28, losing all three matches, conceding 22 goals in their games.
They were thrashed 10-0 by Dude Continental, walloped 7-1 by the Citizens and lost 5-0 against Milan.
The team management maintain they have seen something positive in these games, despite all these losses.
“The trip was successful. We had challenges, but we overcame them. Three of our players were chosen to represent one of the teams in Gauteng,” said Robert Marobane, Killers FC’s public relations officer. We had challenges with accommodation, a short space of time for preparation and stage fright. We are among the bigger teams eliminated, including Orlando Pirates as the hosts.”
Killers FC’s management said they will assemble a strong team in preparation for the tournament in 2025.
