IN PHOTOS: Easter magic at Kaapsehoop market
The Cottontails and Carrot Tops Easter Fair edition of the Kaapsche Hoop Village Market had lots of locally made goodies on offer, as well as a magical day out for Lowveld families and tourists.
Lowvelders and visitors from out of town flocked to the Kaapsche Hoop Village Market’s Cottontails and Carrot Tops Easter Fair last Saturday, March 30.
Those who attended enjoyed a wonderful day out with family and friends with the magical backdrop of the Kaapsehoop mountains and greenery, while perusing and buying bespoke and handmade items from local entrepreneurs.
The drizzle and the mist throughout the day did not stop these people from coming out to support the stallholders, who were selling a wonderful variety of products, from locally produced coffee, lemonade, food and honey to locally designed and made clothing, jewellery and wire sculptures, to name a few.

Organiser Berry Legg said there were two stalls that totally sold out of their wares, and that the number of market-goers was more than expected.
“All in all we were very happy. Everyone who came was very happy with the location, and I am grateful for all the people who supported us. We had people come from as far away as Malalane, people passing through on their way back from Sabie to Benoni and people from Gauteng who were in the village for the weekend.”
She said they also encouraged visitors to the market to wander along the Art Meander in the village, which is made up of various artists and crafters in the area as well as the restaurants and pubs. “It was positive all around and a great day,” she said.
