Two cows die in accident in Mbombela

The cows were being transported on a trailer that came off its towing vehicle, hit a tree and died.

Two cows died while being transported on a trailer on the R40 in Mbombela in the early morning of Friday, April 12.

According to the eyewitnesses on the scene, the trailer had come off the bakkie that was towing it, rolled off and hit a tree.

The two cows died on the scene. They were removed under the supervision of the SPCA. Nobody was injured during the incident, and traffic was also not interrupted.

Meanwhile, the driver, who wanted to remain anonymous, and also asked Lowvelder not to publish the story, said the cows were being transported for lobola negotiations, but he did not give much information about where they had come from and where he had been heading.
