On May 1, families can enjoy Workers’ Day with their furry companions at the Yor-K9 Bark in the Park & Trial Run at Engelhardpark.

This is a fundraiser in aid of the Sabie Mass Animal Sterilisation Trust (MAST).

There are numerous events that will keep you and your pet entertained, including 22km, 10km, 5km, and 2.1km trial runs, as well as a Kruger National Park K9 demonstration.

Local veterinarian Dr Jacqui Hooten will teach pet owners basic emergency care for their pets.

Pet owners can also take part in the hammer-the-nail competition, while their furry friends can participate in the best-dressed competition.

The MAST organisation was established in 2013. MAST helps to control animal overpopulation by sterilising roaming animals and pets whose owners cannot afford the procedure, targeting animals that are permanently roaming, becoming pregnant on every heat, or impregnating others.
