We Care 4 Nelspruit on clean-up campaign for Springboks in Mbombela

The main aim of the clean-up campaign in Mbombela is to ensure that the city is clean before the Springbok versus Argentina match.

We Care 4 Nelspruit and the Nelspruit City Improvement District have embarked on a Go Bokke Clean-up Campaign to ensure that the city is clean ahead of the Springbok versus Argentina match this Saturday, September 28.

According to the founder of We Care 4 Nelspruit, Pr TJ Maré, they are not taking over the City of Mbombela’s (CoM) job, but they do want to ensure that the city is neat ahead of the Battle of Mbombela at Mbombela Stadium.

“We are also going to ensure that the abortion posters all over the city are removed. The campaign will run even after the game to make sure that the city remains clean,” he said.
“There are many people who want to get involved, ranging from business people to learners. We have started clearing papers and bottles on the N4 from Mataffin to Valencia, then moved on to a part of the R40 and R104. We call on members of the community to join hands with us and assist in keeping the city clean.”

Maré added that they will place bins across the city during the games for people to dispose of their rubbish.

They are also requesting people to make use of the dustbins if they have garbage in their cars, instead of dumping it on the road.

“The main aim of the campaign is to make sure that international tourists will return to the city, which will ultimately boost the local economy. Everyone must keep the city clean; it must be a regular occurrence.”
