WATCH: Cheers to Lowvelder’s Pub Crawl 2024!

One of the best events of the year, with no shortage of Lowveld hospitality and community togetherness, was recently enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

On Saturday, October 26, the city came alive with excitement as its locals gathered for the highly anticipated Lowvelder Pub Crawl.

Six of Mbombela’s iconic pubs participated. Bossa, Little Loftus and Hennie’s joined the crawl for the first time, adding fresh energy to the line-up. Meanwhile, seasoned participants Oppihoek Pub and Grill, Marlin Pub and Grill and The Pub returned to bring their signature warmth and hospitality to the day’s festivities.

Mustangs – The Dancing Place served as the lively starting point where the participants arrived dressed to impress, setting a high bar for creativity and enthusiasm. Citybug was on standby, providing safe and seamless transportation between the venues, allowing everyone to kick back, relax and fully embrace the fun without a single worry about drinking and driving. From themed costumes to matching couple ensembles, the energy was electric, each attendee adding their unique flair to the unforgettable atmosphere.

At every stop, the establishments went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience, with special drink offers, unique decorations and live entertainment that kept the crowd buzzing. Awards added an extra dash of excitement, with categories for the best dressed, the best couple and the best pub. Oppihoek Pub and Grill proudly took home the title of best pub for their outstanding efforts.

As the sun began to set, everyone returned to Mustangs – The Dancing Place for the prize-giving ceremony, where anticipation filled the air as the winners were announced to cheers and applause.

But the night didn’t end there. The energy carried on with lively music, laughter and good vibes as everyone danced and celebrated late into the evening.

The success of this remarkable day wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of the sponsors, including Mustangs – The Dancing Place, Citybug, Rooikat Wholesale Liquor, Buffelsfontein, Mpumalanga Structural Steel and Anlea Custom Creations. Their commitment ensured a seamless, safe and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

The 2024 Lowvelder Pub Crawl was proof of Mbombela’s sense of community and love of good times, setting an incredibly high bar for next year’s event. Here’s to even more laughs, memories and unforgettable moments in the future!
