UPDATE: Accident scene on N4 near Mara cleared
The road had been closed due to an accident involving a truck and a sedan, but has been reopened.
The accident scene on the N4 between Mara and Duma Lodge has been cleared and the road has been reopened for traffic.
It had been closed due to an accident involving an articulated truck and a sedan earlier today, December 3.

The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison’s spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, said the cause of the accident remains unclear at this stage, however the investigation is under way. “I can confirm that the road has been reopened for traffic and the scene has been cleared, however, motorists are advised to drive with caution when they approach the area due to some debris on the side of the road. I would like to urge motorists to always adhere to the rules of the road, to rest when they are tired and only overtake when it’s safe to do so,” he said.
Mmusi also wished a speedy recovery to the driver of the sedan who was rushed to Rob Ferreira Hospital for treatment.
