Lesedi-sedi Independent School in Moroke honours top pupils for 2024

Best pupils, sports stars were handed trophies and certificates.

Lesedi-sedi Independent School honoured its top performing pupils during a prize-giving ceremony held at the school’s ECD Centre in Moroke on November 29.

This event was attended by the school’s board of directors, led by the founder and CEO, PEL Moloto, the school management team, the advisory council, as well as the parents, educators and learners who performed in several extramural activities.

Speaking during the event, Moloto confirmed that Lesedi-sedi will have its first group of matric pupils in 2027.

“We are already planning and preparing our 2025 Grade 10s for matric. When they reach matric, they will be familiar with the topics and syllabuses for Grade 12. We are planning for a 100% bachelor pass rate with our matric class of 2027. The school plan for Lesedi-sedi is to provide a rich and rounded educational experience for all learners, with a shared ethos and vision of ‘in omnia excellentia!’. This means to be curious, inspirational, inclusive, kind and to be the best.”

Moloto said in 2024, Lesedi-sedi did not only excel in academics.

“We were exceptional in sports, choral music, spelling bees and debate competitions. 2025 will see us continuing with the excellent work.”

The pupils honoured during the awards were the best from grade R to nine, the best learners in each subject, sports stars and many others.

The winners were handed trophies, medals and certificates. Two keynote speakers, Dr Boledi Moloto and RH Mabitla, honoured the event.

They guided and motivated the attendees. They applauded the pupils for excelling in their studies and thanked Moloto for running one of the best schools in Mecklenburg.
