KaBokweni man arrested for killing sister

A suspect allegedly had an argument with his sister that turned violent.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for killing his sister and burying her in a shallow grave in his yard in KaBokweni.

The Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, said the SAPS received information about a man who reportedly told some community members that he had buried his elder sister’s body in his yard.

“The suspect further claimed he had a heated argument about food with his sister on May 29, 2024. According to him, the situation then turned violent and he struck her to death. To evade arrest, he then dug a shallow grave and buried her,” he said.

Mdhluli also said the body has not yet been exhumed, however, relevant stakeholders, including the SAPS’s Forensic Services and the K9 Unit, were notified about the incident and due processes will follow.
