A multi-vehicle collision in Crocodile Gorge, between KaNyamazane and Matsulu, that occurred today (August 27), resulted in 20 passengers sustaining injuries.

The road is closed to traffic in both directions and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

Martin Jeffrey of Emer-G-Med reported that a bakkie, a light-motor vehicle and a truck were involved in a head-on collision. “One passenger is still trapped in the bakkie,” Jeffrey said. A 10-year-old passenger is in a critical but stable condition.

Emergency services are on the scene to assist the passengers and begin recovery operations.
