UPDATE | Pilot of missing aircraft identified
A 30-year-old man is the sole occupant of the missing aircraft.

The pilot of a Cessna 206 that went missing yesterday (October 16) has been identified as Johann Marx. His aunt, Manda Meyer, confirmed the information and pleaded for anyone who sees him to contact her.

Rescue operations that were hampered yesterday by severe weather are now fully underway.
Marx was flying to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport when his aircraft lost signal and was reported missing. It departed from King Mswati III International Airport in Eswatini at 13:23 and lost signal at 13:37.
