Man’s half-naked body discovered in Nkomazi
The man had been stabbed in the back, between the shoulder blades and above the waist.
Police in the Nkomazi region are investigating a case of murder following the discovery of a man’s body at Middelplaas in Schoemansdal, near Malalane.
The discovery was made on Thursday, January 8, at about 15:00 by a community member, who alerted the police.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was stabbed with a sharp object in the back, between the shoulder blades and above the waist, before being dumped in the field,” said Mpumalanga police spokesperson Sergeant Thulisile Magagula.
She added that the body was already in a decomposed state at the time of discovery.

The victim is described as a dark-complexioned male, estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old. “He was wearing blue and white checked shorts (BVD) and was found to have gold teeth,” Magagula explained.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist in tracing the suspect or suspects, or help locate the family of the deceased, to contact the branch commander, Detective Captain James Khoza, on 076 412 3745. “All information received will be treated as confidential, and callers may remain anonymous,” said Magagula.
