IN PHOTOS: Lowvelders enjoy splash of colour in support of CANSA

The more than 200 runners dealt with a warm Lowveld sun while they shone bright and had heaps of fun.

Lowveld community members flocked to Mbombela Stadium on January 31 to support CANSA Lowveld, all while having great fun during the CANSA Colour Run.

While it has been organised by CANSA Lowveld in the past, the colour run had been absent from the organisation’s calendar for several years. However, this year it made a welcome return. Well over 200 people took part, spray-colouring their hair, throwing powder paint at one another, and enjoying a 4.5km run within the stadium precinct.

Great fun was had with plenty of laughs shining through the colour on participants’ faces. The aim of the event was far from being competitive, but Arno Roux-Fourie was first to finish, followed by Genevieve Swart and Alisha Putter. CANSA Lowveld’s sustainability co-ordinator Rinella Janse van Vuuren was overjoyed with the success of the event and expressed her gratitude for the support shown by participants.
