Manhunt under way for suspected Kruger poachers

Two suspected poachers fled from Kruger Park rangers while a third was wounded during crossfire.

Kruger National Park rangers encountered three alleged poachers in the Kingfisherspruit section on Tuesday, March 10.

SANParks spokesperson JP Louw said one of the suspects was armed and a confrontation ensued.

One individual was wounded and the other two fled.

Louw said a doctor was called to the scene to treat the suspect before he was transported to a hospital.

SAPS processed the crime scene and a heavy calibre rifle was recovered. Louw said the search for the remaining suspects continues.
