Shoot-out between zama zamas closes N4 on Schoemanskloof
Motorists travelling to and from Mbombela are advised to divert via Ngodwana or Waterval Boven while police attend to an active incident along the N4.
The N4 on Schoemanskloof has been temporarily closed after the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) announced today, September 29, that crossfire between zama zamas near a farm poses a danger to motorists travelling to and from Mbombela.
Alternative routes advised
“Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and travel via Ngodwana or the Waterval Boven route to ensure their safety,” said DCSSL spokesperson Moeti Mmusi.
He added that police are on the scene to investigate what prompted the shoot-out.
