New SANParks tender revamps KNP restaurants

Visitors can expect temporary dining options as Lower Sabie, Pretoriuskop, Berg-en-Dal and Skukuza prepare for rebranded eateries.

New dining experiences are coming to the Kruger National Park as SANParks appoints fresh restaurant operators across several popular camps.

According to SANParks spokesperson JP Louw, this follows a tender process that attracted several high-quality hospitality brands. The appointments coincide with the expiry of previous concession agreements.

Lower Sabie’s former Mugg & Bean will be reintroduced as Sabie River Café, Pretoriuskop’s Wimpy will become Le Lapeng Burgers and Grill, and Berg-en-Dal’s Tindlovu Restaurant will be transformed into Eziko Eatery. Meanwhile, Cattle Baron at Skukuza will undergo refurbishment to deliver a refreshed look and feel.

“SANParks and the respective operators apologise for any inconvenience during these upgrades and appreciate visitors’ patience and understanding,” Louw said.

The new operators bring fresh concepts, investment and energy to some of the park’s most popular camps, contributing to economic growth, job creation and an improved tourism offering within the Kruger National Park.

SANParks appreciates the patience and understanding of visitors during the refurbishment period and looks forward to unveiling the upgraded facilities in the coming months.
