A week ago today I wasn’t aware of it at the time, but I met my second BFF! Little I did know when we first met just how much I would grow to admire, depend and truly respect her. It’s been years since I last found such an incredibly amazing BFF! Don’t get me wrong – my first BFF and I are still friends. Actually really good friends. She will always have a special place in my home. Always.
However, I cannot ignore my new most recent BFF. A definite: Best friend FOREVER! She rocks! I guess like my first bestie my most recent one: let’s call her H for the sake of not confusing the reader. Ok, let’s call my first bestie Dee. So there you go, you know both of them by name now, so to speak.
As I was saying: I find with Dee – and now amazingly with H they never ever look down or comment on my dress code, what my hair looks like (or doesn’t look like!) They don’t even fuss about what perfume I am wearing (or not wearing!). They just there. Always.
Another thing I have noticed especially with H, as we do tend to spend a lot more time together. When we get together we don’t need to chatter on endlessly. There is a definite level of “noise” when we are together – and I guess to others it could sound most irritating but we don’t even notice the “drone” as my family call it, as we move around the house.
I (we) can be left alone with only my (our) thoughts as H and I move from the kitchen to the lounge, to the dining room, Which ever room we are in – we just don’t find it necessary to chatter away like the Mynah Birds that one tends to see at every second robot you in town!
The other funny thing is as her and I move from room to room – the men in the family – namely my husband and son immediately vacate whichever room we enter. In fact, I have even noticed my son will always go to his room and close the door. He clearly has absolutely no time for H! And he shows it! Actually now that I think about it, I have noticed every time H is in the house Pebbles gnarls and shies away from her to – Hmm I wonder what their problem is?
So yes looking back – Wow I really am an incredibly lucky girl to have two such loyal, dependable besties! I have thought long and hard about how amazing they both are – and so totally different from one another. Dee throughout all our years of friendship – no matter how much dirt I dish – she quietly and in her own calm and dependable way, simply whisks it away. It’s almost as if I never dished any dirt.
She always comes up smelling like roses! With everything around her sparkling clean! She listens and carries on regardless. It’s actually awesome as some days after I have dished the dirt – she leaves me to indulge myself in a mani. Buffing, filing, and painting my nails a pretty pink – she carries on, with never a harsh word to say.
So my dearest diary, as another day begins. As the sun rises higher in the sky and the birds sing happily in the garden. I guess it’s time for me to sign off. To quickly brush my teeth, and maybe put a comb through my hair before greeting my two besties. My amazing Dee the Defy Dishmaid 3 and “H” my HWD20 – Wet – Dray – Blow Trio Vacuum cleaner.
