Hockey team hits the International Schools Hockey Festival

The Uplands first-team hockey boys were recently invited to take part in the Cape Town u/18 International Schools Hockey Festival.

The Uplands first-team hockey boys were recently invited to take part in the Cape Town u/18 International Schools Hockey Festival.

The event started with an opening ceremony for 22 boys’ and 22 girls’ teams from countries such as Namibia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

The Uplands boys were outstanding and played at a level comparable to any school in the country or UK They represented the school very well and showed great commitment and conduct both on and off the field.

The team’s level of play ensured that many enquired about Uplands, doing the school and Mpumalanga proud.

Results: played 7, won 5, drew 1, lost 1 (to the finalists).
