Teams aim for spot in the last 16
Last weekend the second edition of the Tsamaya Soccer Tournament, the latest addition to local football tournaments, got underway with a three-goal thriller.

The tourney comprises 32 teams from various streams in the Onderberg which are drawn and selected according to their rivalry within their stream. Eight have already been knocked out.
Small Chiefs and Cosmos officially opened the tournament on Saturday when they competed for a place in the last 16. Cosmos were unfortunately dealt a narrow 2-1 defeat, and given an early exit out of the tourney by their home rivals of Schuzendal, Small Chiefs.
In the second game Black A rivals, Naughty Boys and Junior Bucks, treated spectators to a two-goal thriller courtesy of Naughty Boys’ dominance in the game. They made it to the next round of the tourney with a clean-sheet record.
The 2014 Selati Cup semi-finalist, Driekoppies Barcelona’s stay in the tournament was also short-lived when they failed to register a goal against their home-town rivals, Mbokodo Wanders, whose single goal secured them a spot in the
last 16.
Meanwhile 2013 Selati Cup finalist Buffelspruit Home Defenders were also dealt a short tournament run. Buffelspruit All Blacks were able to find the one decisive goal against them to reserve a place in the last 16.
On Sunday when the games resumed, things got off to a slow start between Middelplaas All Stars and Middelplaas Rovers.
They seemingly set the trend for the day with a 1-0 score in favour of Rovers.
The score remained the same in the second clash of the day when Driekoppies Sifundzekhaya and Bongane Celtics met. Sifundzekhaya walked away with a positive 1-0 outcome from the encounter.
In the third clash of the day, Jeppes Reef Cobras failed to slither past High Eagles to make it into the last 16. They lost 1-0 to Eagles.
Twice champions of Selati Cup, Schoemansdal Junior Aces, were held to a 2-all draw against their hometown rivals, Schoemansdal Double Action.
Junior Aces claimed a 3-1 victory in the penalty shoot-out, in order to qualify for the next round of the competition.
