A group of Judokas from White River did exceptionally well at the Nelspruit Open last weekend and brought home six medals. Fourty competitors from White River, Nelspruit and Gauteng competed, with each contestant participating in about four fights.
The White River club judokas, consisting of Akeeda Bundhu, Nathan Lourens, Zash Bundhu, Gene-Lee Coetser, Bernica Lourens, Machaella Grove and Timéal Bundhu, won four gold and two silver medals. Sensei Anthony Theron says his students performed with excellence after only 3 months’ training.
