Enter the scenic God’s Window race

The Legogote Villagers are hosting a race in the beautiful Graskop area on 4 October.

If you’re looking for a good excuse to spend the day outdoors or looking to challenge yourself, the Build it God’s Window race is a good reason to get moving. The race will be hosted by the Legogote Villagers on Saturday, October 4 and starts at 07:00 at the Graskop Caravan Park.

Distances and entry fees are R60 for 21km, R30 for 10km and R10 for 5km. Temporary licences will be available for R20. Grandmasters will not be charged entry fees. Walkers are very welcome. Registration starts at 05:30 on race day.

All finishers will receive a medal, with prize money going to all categories in both the 21km and 10km. The time limit is 3 hours.

This race is set in one of the most beautiful and scenic areas of our country and a must for all runners and walkers. The organisation is superb and it is an enjoyable day out for runners and their families.

It is a fairly tough route but the scenery more than makes up for any discomfort. It starts just outside the caravan park and takes runners along the Graskop – Ohrigstad road where the going is relatively easy and pleasantly undulating. The route then turns right into God’s Window and then the real work begins – a 7km climb to the top of the hill. This will be a good time to slow down to a walk and enjoy the view. After the tough climb, the downhill section is most welcome. The scenery on this race is spectacular and often there is morning mist just to add to the ambiance.
