Aces’ captain wants to continue winning run against Pirates
Aces will be hoping that their striking department fires on all cylinders against the Buccaneers tomorrow night.
Mpumalanga Black Aces will look for maximum points against the dangerous Orlando Pirates when the two teams clash tomorrow evening on October 21, 2014 at the Mbombela Stadium.
Aces coach Clive Barker and his captain Abia Nale held a brief press conference before their first training session at the Mbombela Stadium in preparation of their match tomorrow.
Their main focus was on keeping their winning laegue run going, which could take them to second place on the log.
“We are an attacking team and I believe that the players are jelling well. I am also improving on my own game and building confidence with every match,” he said.
Nale scored the opener against Moroka Swallows this past weekend and will be eager to hit the net at the Mbombela Stadium in front of the home fans.
Coach Barker sang his captains’ praises and mentioned a strong likeness to former Bafana Bafana star midfielder John “Shoes” Moshoeu.
“Abia (Nale) is good with both his feet and is an excellent leader on the pitch. I have rewarded him with the captaincy,” stated Barker who is expecting the attacking midfielder to wear a Bafana Bafana shirt in the near future.
According to Barker, the biggest challenge of the season has been to organise an entire new crop of players this season. One of the factors that have been worrying for Aces has been the striking department.
“We have been struggling getting goals from our striker, but I am sure that once they find the first confidence boosting goal, they will then score on a regular basis,” he conceded.

Kickoff starts at 19:30 and fans are encouraged to fill the stadium.
