2014 Mpumalanga Dressage Championships draws riders from across the province

Uplands Equestrian Centre was taken over by well-dressed riders and handsome horses during the spectacular event earlier this month.

The Mpumalanga Dressage Championships is one of the province’s most prestigious horse-riding events and riders had to put their best foot forward to meet the judges’ high standards.

This year riders could take part in the brand new freestyle dressage. This entailed riders and horses in fancy dress performing to music. The organisers equated it to equine ballet and said that such amazing performances are rarely seen, while spectators agreed that it was definitely one of the highlights of the event.

Judges emphasised the fantastic quality of the horses and the riders in the province and endorsed their readiness to compete against some of the country’s best.
