Swimmers make big strides

Disabled swimmer, Raymond de Freitas, also displayed his credentials in the swimming pool with his time of 36:16 in the mixed 50m fly multi-disability event.

The Mpumalanga Age Group Swimming trials took place on Friday, October 31 to Saturday, November 1 at Van Riebeeck Park with regular swimmers looking to set up and improve times on Swimming SA’s database.

This time school learners could also compete in this event.

Milan van Veenhuyzen set the fastest time in the mixed 200m breast stroke event with her 2:41:26. Brothers, Delano and Landau van Rooyen also impressed in the mixed 200m individual medley with the older sibling pipping his younger brother in a time of 2:31:78.
