Aces’ new captain an inspiration to his team

The attacking midfielder's greatest attributes are his pace and ability to glide past defenders with his quick feet and ball control.

Abia Nale is a true journeyman of South African soccer. He has played for five Premier Soccer League teams during his career and has jumped ship to numerous clubs, but it seems he has found his feet and confidence at Mpumalanga Black Aces as captain under his new mentor, Aces coach Clive Barker.

Barker has put a lot of confidence in Nale and has promoted him to captain for this season. He has shown his credentials and ability to inspire his teammates in pressure situations.

The team captain, who bears the nickname, The Soul Provider, has also upped his game this season as he has improved his ability to create goalscoring chances for his teammates and has also scored a wonderful goal against Moroka Swallows. The man with the number 11 also reckons that Barker is the best coach that he has played under during the nine years of his professional career.

The attacking midfielder’s greatest attributes are his pace and ability to glide past defenders with his quick feet and ball control. According to Mpumalanga Black Aces’ official website, Nale would have chosen to be a pop star if he had not become a professional soccer player. He also supported Kaizer Chiefs as a kid and went on to play in 81 matches for the gold and black team.

Nale grew up in Sebokeng in the Vaal Triangle and continues to go back to his roots to assist the underprivileged in his community.
