Golfers in money for trust
Low’s Creek Treated Timber’s managed to raise R50 000 for the Wandré Els Trust with their charity golf day.
A large number of golf players descended on White River Country Estate last week Friday in aid of sufferers of cerebral palsy. The disease causes physical disability and movement problems in sufferers and treatment can manage the symptoms.
Raising funds for this cause was Low’s Creek Treated Timber’s aim with the event. It is an annual event and this year it was in support of the Wandrè Els Trust, to raise funds for him and other children like him to cover their medical expenses and purchase supporting equipment.
With the golfers’ charitable support, the day was a great success, says Sharon Koegelenberg, one of the organisers. A total of 89 players contributed to raising R50 000.
“None of this would have been possible without the immense support of all our customers, friends and sponsors,” Koegelenberg said.
The top six four-ball teams won rounds at Leopard Creek, DSTV Explora decoders, Weber braais and patio umbrellas. The top finishers were Braam Haasbroek and Clayton Schmidt followed by Ruan Groenewald and Dewald de Villiers. André Hattingh and Thinis Neethling finished in third place.
