Huge honour for Renaldo
Renaldo Bothma is the only local player who was nominated by the South African Rugby Union (Saru) on Wednesday for its annual Rugby Player of the Year Awards, which will take place on February 8 in Midrand.
The number eight of the Steval Pumas has been nominated for Vodacom Cup Player of the Year. Hot on his heels are Jonathan Francke (GWK Griquas) and Lizo Gqoboka (EP Kings).
During this year Jimmy Stonehouse was named Absa Coach of the Year and the home side was crowned Absa Team of the Year. Rosko Specman snatched the award for Vodacom Cup Player of the Year.
Former Hoërskool Nelspruiter, Duane Vermeulen has been nominated for Saru Player and Vodacom Super Rugby Player of the Year.
