Bungalows ladies take the league win

With two impressive wins and one game lost by a point, a team of ladies from the Bungalows Bowling Club were crowned the winners of the Super Ladies C Section League.

Bungalows Bowling Club were declared the overall winners in the Super Ladies C Section League on November 22 at Barberton Bowling Club.

The league consists of three sections (A, B and C) where teams of four play against other clubs in the area, such as Lydenburg, LVCC, Nelspruit, Malalane, White River and Bungalows. The team that reach the 21st end with the most points are declared the winners and rewarded with two points.

Bungalows’ first league game was against Malalane in Mbombela, which they won with a score of 23/15. The ladies then had a great victory in Lydenburg playing against the home team and had a score of 39/11. The last game was against LVCC D and the players battled with the greens. After the 10th end LVCC D was ahead of Bungalows with a score of 12/0, which had the players very worried. They ended up losing by one point (19/20) but due to their excellent scores in the other league games, still managed to take the victory.

C-League results:

• 1st place – Bungalows with 4 points and a shot aggregate of 35

• 2nd – Malalane with 4 points and a shot aggregate of 4

• 3rd – LVCC D with 4 points and a shot aggregate of 2

• 4th – Lydenburg with 0 points and a shot aggregate of -41.

Players interested in bowls are encouraged to join the Bungalows Bowling Club on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 14:15. Currently twilight bowls (which started on November 1) is being played every Friday from 16:30 until the end of February.
