League’s fast and furious pace only for the fittest

If there is one word to describe a Wednesday evening at the Action Sports Centre in Mbombela it would be fast. The electrifying pace at which teams play action netball was something that stood out as this was truly action at its finest. Netball version 2.0 if you would like.
Action netball is a seven-a-side matchup where competitiveness, team spirit and a good time are the ways in which this game is played.
The respective teams all arrived with their game face on complete with pre match huddles from these interestingly and creatively named teams.
The Ringers faced off against Very Berry and easily beat the less agile team with a 10-point gap in a 32-22 win.
Jalepenos and the Rainbowmakers had a much closer battle as the scoreline constantly ticked over in both teams’ favour. In the end Rainbowmakers got a 26-24 victory. Both squads were physically exhausted after this encounter.
One of the interesting aspects of action netball is that males and females can challenge one another for some mixed-gender competitiveness.
Matches are played in two 15-minute halves with an extremely short one-minute break for a much-needed quick refreshment.
The Crazies have been one of the best mixed teams in the league and once again dominated their opposition when they trounced Numbi Ford with 32-12.
The Spitfires and The Great Dames were also on the winning end at the end. The Spitfires beat the Jam Jars
23-10 while The Great Dames defeated the Cherry Bombs 31-11.
