Gymnasts entertain with dances from various cultures
The Hazyview Gymnastics Club concluded the year's activities with a gymnastics performance and prize-giving ceremony.
The audience was taken on an amazing trip around the world, as gymnasts of the Hazyview Gymnastics Club performed group dances at the club’s annual prize-giving ceremony.
The event started off with a presentation of club members’ skills and everyone from preschool pupils and beginners to advanced groups took part. The theme was “All around the world” and groups entertained the audience with performances representing various countries like the USA, South Africa, China, India and Hawaii.
Many parents complemented the gymnasts on their outstanding costumes and excellent performances.
Gymnasts who had excelled during the year were awarded trophies. Tamryn de Lange was the most improved gymnast, while Mia Vos was the most promising gymnast. Rohan Louw was awarded the trophy for most dedicated boy and Felicity Sholtz was the most dedicated girl.
The champions of each level were Mboni Khoza (level 1), Leane Wallace (level 3), Zandri du Toit (level 4) and Zoë Vos (level 5). David Dorfling was announced as the boys’ champion and Seany Dorfling received the trophy for club champion.
The Hazyview Gymnastics Club is based in the Farmers’ Hall in Kiepersol and interested children of all ages are welcome to join. Classes will resume at the beginning of February.
