Ahead of Saturday’s upcoming Mayoral Sports Development Cup finals, the Nkomazi Local Football Association (NKLFA) has expressed its delight in the tournament.
This was revealed on Tuesday during the losers finals, and the play-offs for third and fourth place. According to NKLFA secretary, Collence Silabela, upgrades to the Kamhlushwa Stadium have contributed to its success.
“The infrastructural upgrades which the municipality recently undertook have indeed contributed towards the huge success of the 2014 edition of the Mayoral Sports Development Cup. The upgrades to this facility have enabled more community members to come and enjoy our local soccer flair,” Silabela explained.
“Despite having to stage games at various stadiums on the same day and at the same time, things have gone very well. We are constantly exposed to new talented individuals every year and for us this is very encouraging and highly commendable.”
Speaking ahead of the finals, Silabela has congratulated all the winners, and encouraged those who were defeated.
“That is just how it is in sport, there has to be a winner and there has to be a loser. Congratulations to the winners, and for the defeated teams, this shouldn’t necessarily be seen as a defeat, but rather as encouragement to spend more time practising as a team.”
