One of the top races cancelled
The PricewaterhouseCoopers Fast 3-in-1 race, scheduled to take place on February 28, has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

According to the previous chairman of Nelspruit Marathon Club, Arthur Meneke, the club had no other choice than to call off the event. “The sponsor did not withdraw from the race, but the amount was far less than expected. To organise an event like this costs us up to R100 000 and half of that was made available.”
It was a Two Oceans and Comrades qualifier and runners now have to travel quite far to compete in races that offer qualifying times. “We do feel for the runners, but that’s the way it is. We just don’t have enough people who compete in the race,” Meneke continued.
The hosts will concentrate on presenting an unforgettable Rudamans Kaapsehoop 3-in-1 in November, when over 1 000 people will make their way to Mbombela to participate in this great event. “We thank all our loyal runners for their support and apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused,” Nelspruit Marathon Club’s management said.
