Pick out a funky training outfit for the annual SPAR Grove Ladies Race

The annual SPAR Grove Ladies Race is taking place on February 7 at 06:00 and all women are welcome to enter.

Ladies, it’s time to dress in your brightest trainers and snazziest training outfit for the SPAR Grove Ladies 10 kilometre and five kilometre race.

Legogote Villagers will host the race on February 7 at 06:00, with the starting line outside the Grove SUPERSPAR. The club hopes to have at least 400 women entering this great event.

This third annual race is relatively fast and flat with only a few gradual rises, according to the organisers, and runners will follow a looping course back to the starting line.

This year the race is strictly for females. No men, even if they are dressed as ladies, will be allowed to enter.

Entry fees are R50 for the 10 kilometre and R20 for the five kilometre. Runners can enter at the starting line on race day from 04:30.

There will be lots of spot prizes and race winners will receive medals. Prizes include R600 for the first woman, R400 for the second and R200 for the third. The first junior, veteran, master, grandmaster and walkers will also each receive R200 in prize money.
