Fantastic results shown by Curro’s athletes

Marula were crowned the winners with 581 points at Curro Nelspruit's annual interhouse athletics which took place last week.

Selanna Biggs was named victrix ludorum. She obtained three first places in the 1 500 metres with a time of 05:23:40, 800 metres (02:45:68) and the 200 metres (31:18). She also got a bronze in the shot put with a distance of 6,83 metres.

With three gold medals in respectively the 70-metre hurdles, 80 and 100 metres as well as a second place in the 150-metre event, Luan Strauss held the victor ludorum trophy high.

“As a team I am very confident that the 2015 athletics season will be the best yet for us as a school. Our main focus at this stage is the independent school-athletics championships that will be held on February 28 at Penryn Prep. We would like to thank all of our parents for their continued support all round,” said Ryan McCarthy of Curro. The spirit trophy was won by Acacia.
