NMC proud of their new clubhouse

Today, thanks to great support, they provide fun and a family-friendly environment for runners and walkers to support their personal running objectives and to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and road running in general.

The mission of Nelspruit Marathon Club to always meet the needs of their members, was again accomplished when they recently cut the ribbon to signal the official opening of their new home near Mbombela Stadium.

They started in 1979 with 13 members as the first club to do time trials in Mbombela. Their first assembly point was under a tree at Nelspruit Rugby Club, with no official clubhouse. Today, thanks to great support, they provide fun and a family-friendly environment for runners and walkers to support their personal running objectives and to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and road running in general.

Other than wanting only the best for their members, the move is also contributed to the planned expansion of the Crossing Centre. Runners can now look forward to a brand-new and safer route to enjoy. Piet Smith, president of the Nelspruit Marathon Club encourages runners to join and enjoy a family-friendly environment. Enquiries: Yolanda Steenkamp on 084-607-6314
