Golfers enjoy a day of entertainment on greens
In a fund-raising effort, Lowveld High School (LHS) recently hosted their first golf day in many years at Nelspruit Golf Club.
The weather was just perfect even though rain had been predicted.
A number of golfers showcased their skills on the course playing in teams of two and four. They competed on excellent greens. Cameron Gild took first place to record 37 Stableford points.
Later in the evening load-shedding didn’t get the best of the event as the prize-giving continued and the golfers were treated to light snacks.
During prize-giving the LHS choir, national finalists, mesmerised the audience with their winning melodies.
With the support of the local community the players received awesome prizes, ranging from printers and vouchers to all sorts of goodies.
The auction was done in the format of an American auction, going to the highest bidder. Every cent mattered as wonderful golf and other sports memorabilia were auctioned off successfully.
The day proved to be a success as the school managed to raise much-needed funds.
The marketing manager, Francina du Plessis, on behalf of the school, thanked all those involved for making it a success.
“Particular thanks to all our sponsors, the golfers, Ryk Lacock and his team at the golf club, without you the day would not have been a success,” she said as she wrapped up the evening.
Join them again next year on March 25 for their golf day. It is going to be bigger, better and more dynamic.
