Nothando set for a great future in squash, but needs sponsorship
Barbertonian squash champion, the 17-year-old Nothando Ntimane has bagged three awards for the 2015 squash season on November 1.
This happened at an event aimed at recognising well-performing players in Northern Gauteng. Although her family home is still in Barberton, Nothando has been attending Menlopark High School in Pretoria after she was awarded a scholarship last year.
For best overall performance in 2015, she received the Chairpersons Award as well as one for finishing in the SA Top 10 girls u/19. Nothando also received The Dora Orban Trophy on behalf of her school which managed to win the school’s league.
During June she represented South Africa in Hong Kong and Malaysia and the month after at the interprovincial tournament, she represented Northern Gauteng.
Nothando will be on tour in Australia during December to prepare for next year’s squash season. According to her father, Patrick Ntimane, her goal is to make the SA World Championships Team. They are in dire need of sponsorship for the Australian tour.
