Lowvelders to jump at SA chamionships
Competition was extremely tough, but their hard work paid off.
Riders from the Lowveld Equestrian Club were honoured to be chosen for the South African Children and Junior Showjumping Championships (SASJ) which take place in Gauteng during the first week of July.
Achievements over the past year were taken into account at both local and national SASJ-graded shows, and competition was extremely tough.
Hard work paid off for these riders who received their official provincial showjumping colours at the Nottinghill show over the past weekend.
Representing Mpumalanga at the championships are:
• Hanelize Kamffer, who is currently ranked highest junior rider in the country, will represent her province in three heights on four horses:
1,3 metres on Katanga Ixchell and Brandenburg Come to the Show, 1,2 metres on Shadow fly, and the 1,1 metres on Africa’s Whizzbar.
• Robin Manktelow will ride El Coiffeur in the 1,1-metre classes.
• Eldoné Janse van Rensburg on Lucky for Some and Ashleigh Buys on Hail the King were chosen for the 90-centimetre classes.
• Jessica Louden on Aladdin and Jenna Murray on Smirnoff Spin flying the flag high in the 80-centimetre classes.
• In the children and pony-rider classes, Anisca Smit is on Rockey’s Rivals Pride (80 centimetres) as well as Rockey’s Bella Divine (pony 80 centimetres). Zane Maritz on Al Gamina Kouros is also in the 80-centimetre team.
• Kyra Whyte on Dream Catcher, and Jana Engelbrecht on Giovanni were chosen for the pony 70-centimetre classes.
