White River hosts play-offs

The Nelspruit and Barberton teams were victorious.

White River Bowls Club hosted the men and ladies Mpumalanga trips play-offs on July 2 and 3. The top-eight winners of the men and ladies trips tournaments that were held in the Lowveld (Nelspruit, White River, Barberton and surrounding clubs), Central Mpumalanga (Middelburg, Witbank, Groblersdal and surrounding clubs) and the Highveld (Ermelo, Secunda, Standerton and surrounding clubs), qualified for the play-offs.

The women’ s tournament yielded the following results:
• 1st Lowveld (Nelspruit): Veronica Coertzen, Madaleine de Klerk and Annetjie Nel.
• 2nd Central (Witbank): Joey Kriel, Ralie van der Spuy and Phyllis Scruton.
• 3rd Central Middelburg: Max van der Westhuizen, Sybyl Allers and Neloise Beetge.
• 4th Highveld (Standerton): Maria Nel, Elrina Greave and Annetjie de Bruto.

In the men’s division results were:

• 1st Lowveld (Baberton): Tinus Janse van Vuuren, Kosie Smit and Steve Janse van Vuuren.
• 2nd Lowveld (White River): Francois Hanekom, Hardus Korf and Geoff March.
• 3rd Central (Groblersdal): Dawid Roos, Flof du Toit and Jaco van Straaten.
• 4th Central (Witbank): Jannie Brandow, Willy Allison and Eben Fourie.
