Nelspruit produces top golf in Sanlam cancer golf challenge
The winners will play in the regional final in August.
The Mbombela final of the Sanlam Cancer Challenge (SCC) took place at Nelspruit Golf Club on Saturday.
The annual challenge has made great strides in creating awareness and raising funds for CANSA to conduct research, educate the public and provide support, since its launch in 1993.
The event drew more than 40 000 competitors nationwide, who played in over 800 club competitions.
Brandon Geere earned 35 points to win the Mbombela A Division. Drikes Joubert was the runner-up.
In the B Division, Beon Stander was the winner with Sid Meyer runner-up.
Henry Wittington earned 31 points to be named the C Division winner, with Koot Bekker the runner-up.
The winners will play in the regional final in August. Winners here will qualify for the national final at Sun City later in the year.
According to Darren Plumb, general manager of Nelspruit Golf Club, R7 500 was raised for CANSA on the day.
He thanked all who supported this great cause.
