Less than a month to go, Mbombela will host its first-ever Jeep Warrior Race at Kwanyoni Lodge.

Slabbert, Harshil, Helder and Louw participated in the black-ops category and Sarah-Anne, Natalie and De Bruin the commando.

“It was a great day out on the course with obstacles challenging all sorts of muscles within the body, from the avalanche, being a four-metre high climb to monkey ropes. It challenges the body and mind.
The weather was great and the obstacles challenging, where the monkey bars left the hands needing more and the mud monster leaving all athletes scrambling to get through the icy water,” said Harshil.

The Jeep Warrior, powered by Reebok, is the largest obstacle- course race in South Africa. This type of racing in our country has been growing, with participants ranging to over 8 000 contestants over a weekend.

The spectator zone is an amazing crowd puller, where family, fans and friends can cheer their contestants on.

“The course layout was very challenging, where the commando athletes had to endure 10 kilometres with 22 obstacles, while the black-ops athletes had to endure 18 kilometres with 30 obstacles,” said Harshil.
