Twilight hockey festival a resounding success

Flamboyant School recently held its annual fund-raiser, the Twilight Hockey Festival, at White River Hockey Club. The evening was enjoyed by all, especially the players who had the rare opportunity to play under lights.

The festival took the form of a friendly, mini round-robin tournament for u/9 to u/13 teams from primary schools in the surrounding area; namely Curro Nelspruit, St Peters, White River Primary, Flamboyant, King School, Woodlands, Penryn and Uplands Preparatory.

Teams had to pay a nominal fee to enter and there were several sponsors for the event. Sports coordinator for Flamboyant School, Jaco Bothes, said play went on until 20:00 because of the good weather.
