Get your war face ready, it’s go time
The Jeep Warrior Race burst onto the scene in 2013 and immediately spearheaded the meteoric rise of obstacle racing in South Africa.

It quickly grew to 9 000 participants per event and remains at the forefront of the growth spurt in the fledgling sport of obstacle racing with its larger-than-life obstacles and innovative courses.
The Jeep #Warrior6 powered by Reebok will be coming to Kwanyoni Lodge, Mbombela on September 24 and 25. It will be the first time Mpumalanga hosts the popular event, which boasts eight legs held throughout the year at different venues across the country.

There are four different categories
• Bratz
Distance: ± 500m ± 8 obstacles
Age: Four to 12
The race caters for children aged four to 12. You can enter your kids online or on race day. Parents/guardians are welcome to accompany their children through the course, but may not attempt the obstacles themselves.
• Rookie
Distance: ±5km trail running, ±15 obstacles
Age: 10 and older
Teams can consist of anything between two to eight members
Fitness level: Beginners and the fit freaks
This is the race for anyone and everyone. If this is your first time doing a Warrior Race, than this category is for you. The Rookie obstacles are challenging enough for the relatively fit and strong to attempt all of them, but not too hard to scare away the newbies. If you’re stressing about not being able to do an obstacle – don’t worry. Just drop down and do 20 burpees and you can be on your way.
• Commando
Distance: ±10km trail running, ± 22 obstacles
Age: 14 and older
Teams can consist of anything between two to eight members
Fitness level: Fit enough to run 10km and still complete some challenging obstacles
Commando is for those who feel rookie is just too easy, and that black ops is still a bit of a stretch. Over and above the rookie obstacles that you will have to complete, a few of them will test your physical strength and take you right out of that comfort zone. Commando will really challenge you, but it won’t break you like black ops will.
• Black ops
Distance: ±15km, ± 30 obstacles
Age: 18 and older
Teams can consists of anything between two and eight
Fitness level: Super fit and super strong
Black ops is for the really brave out there and is a serious challenge – even for the uber-fit. It is designed to push you to your limits, test your physical and mental resolve, and show you what you are made of. No excuses, no mercy, no giving up.
