Golf day to aid well-known tour guide and ranger

A prosthetic leg will enable him to once again enjoy his passion for nature.

Sabi River Sun will host a fund-raising golf day for Dieter Brockmann on September 24. The day will consist of a betterball Stableford. The costs will be

R280 per player, including light snacks at the prize-giving.

Dieter Brockmann has been a game ranger and tour guide in the Kruger National Park and the adjacent Sabi Sands Reserve for many years. Brockmann is, however, currently not able to work. After three unsuccessful knee replacements his left leg had to be amputated, and he is now in dire need of a prosthetic leg that will cost in the region of R75 000. This expense is not covered by his medical aid.

A prosthetic leg will enable him to once again enjoy his passion for nature. His wife, Melissa, has been the sole breadwinner for the past 10 years.

Sabi River Sun calls on all Brockmann’s friends, associates and guests who, at one time or another, joined him on a safari, to assist to get him back on his feet again. Any donations, big or small, will be appreciated. For prizes, hole sponsors at R500, and other donations, please contact Eva Wagner on 082-852-7367 or Sarah Carmichael on

013-741-2238, and for golf bookings Gavin on 013-737-4600 or email: sabi.golf@tsogosun.com
