Competition showcases fencing talent

Assisted by the national competition organiser, Joann Saner, national fencers, Joseph Maluleke and Thulani Manzini, provincial referee Mashudu Mathebula, chairman of Mpumalanga Fencing Association, Zuzette de Beer and coach Greta Ingram of the Lowveld Fencing Club, they ensured that the competition went smoothly and that the fencers gained valuable experience in the art of épée.

Roelof Visser took gold in the u/17 and u/20+ category.

Ingram expressed her commitment and passion for the sport. “I have poured my heart and soul into this sport. Just watch. Our Lowveld fencers will duel their way into the national limelight.”

Jordan Ingram was placed first in the u/13 category. During an interprovincial fencing competition in Polokwane last year, he also received gold in the u/11 category for junior boys épée.
